Trainer Paul Jones said "We broke good, we just couldn't keep our spot down the backside. I can't make a lot of excuses for him. He ran a decent race; The horse that won ran a superb race."
When asked about future plans for the horse, Paul Jones said "we'll probably give him a little break and go back to Oklahoma with him."
Snowbound Superstar took home $25,750 for his second place effort. Bad Act, owned by Hemerio Hernandez and ridden by Cesar DeAlba netted $12,500 for third.
With Freddie Martinez in the irons, Gone To The Mountain earned $60,000 bringing his career earnings to $393,594.
Trainer Wes Giles, was happy with his winning stallion's performance saying, "He had been at the stud farm before the last race so he hadn't been in full training. Today, he was fit and even though we had to come out here to a track he's not used to, he was ready. He got out to the front and stayed there."
Bred by owner Clyde Woerner of Georgetown, Texas, Gone To The Mountain is by Panter Mountain out of Lindys Bouquet by Fast Lindy.
