LAS PALMAS SALE CANCELLED

October 29, 2009 - The Garza, Helzer, and Stewart families have announced the cancellation of the 2009 Las Palmas Classic Horse Sale.

"We did not receive an adequate number of entries for the sale to be beneficial to our consignors," said co-sale manager Jay Helzer. "The challenging economic environment has significantly reduced the number of entries to many sales. All types of disciplines, including race show, and cutting are experiencing smaller sales this fall. We will re-evaluate the opportunity for a sale in the Mission/McAllen area next year."

The sale has produced such graduates as Ignacio Soto's Gallant Corona, winner of the 2009 $95,700 Heartland Juvenile Stakes at Indiana Downs, Ford New Mexico Juvenile winner and Dash For Cash Futurity (G1) finalist Red Oak Special and Firecracker Futurity (G2) winner Swingin N Ease
